A nice "option for Indian" in the South End, but nothing you "can't get at a cheaper place," especially since it's not "nearly as spicy" as promised (and not "palate-wowing" other than the "delicious puffy nan") though Mela does have "interesting decor" (other than the "uncomfortable chairs") and "great service."$$$$ [55]

"Creative" martinis and "tasty little burgers" (leaving some "craving them now" days later) are the thing here. While the "wall-o-flame" fireplace was cool, the interior is "cliche" and filled with "Stepford-wife zombie barbies". No one would "go just for the food." The staff barely recovered from complaints of "gritty spinich" with a free, "tasty" desert to share. $$ [33]
