"I Like P'Town in June, How About You? "

Mike and I spent a very fun, restful weekend in P'town, mostly at the beach, getting fairly badly burned, with a visit to my Dad on Sunday evening for a delayed Father's Day dinner.... I can't actually sit back in my chair right now due to a suburned back (thank GOD I limited exposure on the naked part of Herring Cove beach!)

Saturday 6/25

Got up very early (by our standards, at least) and stopped at McD's for breakfast. The drive down to P'Town was fine with a not-too-bad slowdown at the Sagamore Bridge. We got to P'Town about 11:30 and settled into our B&B Christopher's by the Bay (gotta love the name!) a cute place run by a couple cute men. It's right next to Carpe Diem where we stayed last visit, but C.D. was too $$$ for an in-season stay.

We had an awesome "pig daddy" hotdog at Blue Light and walked to Herring Cove beach via the jetty (one of my favorite walks anywhere, and Mike's "favorite landscape anywhere in the world".) It was sunny breezy and blissfully more pleasant than it would have been in Boston. The water was not too cold (though Mike said "You New Englanders! This is freezing!"). There were not too many cute men, and some scary naked people. Mike and I indulged in our first ever nude sunbathing (the last time I did that was with Rob Smith when I was 14!)

We walked back to our room for a cuddle then out to dinner at Ross' Grill (my favorite restaurant in Ptown) where Mike had an excellent mushroom risotto appetizer, and scallop pasta. I had good mussels and a great pork chop with a mushroom reduction glaze. I love Ross's grille, esp the outside deck, though having to take your wine outside in a plastic cup makes me feel like a kid drinking grape juice out of a sippy cup!

We had a longish nap then went out uo the A-House for under an hour, but ran into our friend Bill, and a friend of mine, drunken hottie 23-year-old Scott, who is from SLC, Utah, and was on a tear about how awful Boston is. So young, and so short a time in Boston to be so jaded. I decided he just must have been dumped by someone.

Sunday 6/26

Got up, watched Sunday Morning on CBS which has turned into a frequent Sunday ritual. Had continental breakfast in Christopher's garden, checked out and drove to herring cove ($15 for parking! And the ranger at the little booth said "Can I help you?" and Mike said "Yeah, we want to park" and she acted surprised we'd be there in our car, at a parking lot, wanting to park. It was kinda funny.)

We spent day at beach, more nude sunbathing, lots of fun swimming, and watching the boys cruise the dunes. We goth got very red (probobly due to 15 spf sunscreen the day before) and headed back to town about 4pm, shopped for Dad's belated Father's day gift.

We went to Tea Dance and got the Planter's Punches we'd been hankering for all day, ran into surprisingly few people we knew from Boston. Finally we drive to Harwich for belated Father's day dinner with my Dad at a suprisinly good Italian resturant in Harwich, served, improbably, by an Irish waitress.
